We've got something very fun planned for you all this year!

How many years have you waited for Halloween just to dress up in your favorite costumes or draw your favorite characters or even write your favorite kind of stories?
Probably all of your years, right?!
This year, we want to show how much fun it is to be part of a team that shares the same eccentricities as you!

Now, we know it could seem like an unfair thing if everyone joins one of the categories and leaves the rest to be unchosen except for a couple people who are scattered. So, we've decided to make a limit in the categories just to keep it as fair as possible. The limit is at least two (2) people per Team and NO MORE THAN five (5) people per team! We have five teams, so a maximum of only 25 people total can participate in this contest! This contest won't be able to happen if we don't have at least two teams!!!! Get your friends involved! Make sure they join up as members of The-Art-Realm group, too!

From now until October 1st!
(Just make a comment on this journal and let us know which team you want to be on--we'll put your dev name up in the available space under the team you choose. Make sure you are a member of our group--the contest is only for members--you must stay a member for the duration of the contest!)

The contestants get to choose the team they are on, but keep in mind, there are only five people per category/team allowed total. If a category doesn't get picked with at least two teammates within the initial sign up time (from now until October 1st), it will be removed from the categories able to be chosen and the extra prize tiers will not be reachable. There are a total of five prize tiers able to be unlocked. For example, if all teams except pumpkin get at least two team members by October 1st, team pumpkin will not be available to be chosen afterward and the 5th place prize tier will not be able to be reached.
One other important thing... if you are on a team by yourself and no one signs up by the time sign up is concluded, you will be asked to join a team that still has space to keep everything fair.

Creativity

You are being judged by how well you depict (draw or paint) or how well you write about the category, for your creativeness in doing so and for how well you worked as a team! Whatever team you join is the subject matter we want you to draw, paint, or write about!!! It must be the PROMINENT feature of your work! Digital and traditional submissions welcome!

As such, Creativity and working as a team counts a TON in this contest.

You are not just entering as an individual in this contest. You are part of a team.
You are ENCOURAGED and URGED to talk to your teammate/s and devise awesome entries!
Don't be shy, you need your teammate's help!
Assuming you have 4 other teammates besides you, you may want to make a five page comic with five different artists doing each page! You might want to write a five page story with each different writer writing each next page! You might even want to do it page by page storybook-style with five panels that all relate to one another in sequence! You could do an artwork collaboration in which you and all of your teammates work on it together to meld your styles!

The point is, you are partnering up with different people to make something awesome and Halloween-y happen!
We hope something fantastic results from team-based arts, so get yourselves together and Skype, forum, email, instant message, chatroom, & note each other to come up with cool and creative submissions to our contest!

RULES

1) ONE submission maximum allowed for each person who enters the contest OR one submission that was collaborated and worked on by all of you. If you're team wins, you and your teammates get awesome prizes! Your Work/s must be NEW (not an old work you made before the contest started) and submitted after Oct. 1st.

2) You can join up as a judge for the contest, but you can't enter the contest if you do. 20 points will be awarded to each Judge that participates by voting during the judging time. Only six judges besides LAN0RA will be allowed. We expect judges to hand out llamas to contest winners, too.
We are all full for our judges~ Try signing up as a contestant!!!

OUR AWESOME JUDGES for this contest are:

3) Drawing, painting, and writing entries allowed only.
No game screenshots, no photography, no photo-manips, no cosplay, nothing that you didn't personally draw or write or collaborate with your teammates on. No plagiarism. Oh, and NO FAN ARTs. Must be original stuff!

Please keep writing entries at 15 pages or less per contestant. 15 pages does not necessarily mean your entry is better; less is sometimes MORE. All pages by a single contestant must be on one deviation and not multiple submissions for each page. Both literature deviations and journal deviations are acceptable as writing entries. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling count!

4) No harassing judges, no pandering to judges, no bad sports. People with bad attitudes during or after the contest will be banned from the group and contest.

5) There are a lot of things you can get disqualified for and they will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Please remember to follow the group's rules on submissions. You can find them just below here:

6) You must be a group member of The Art Realm to win any prizes in this contest. Any work done for a team will not count toward the final submission for your team and you will miss out on your share of the prize if you aren't a member of our group or if you don't submit an entry by the deadline. Just a quick note: If any of the prize donors (other than LAN0RA) doing art prizes do not deliver their prize to you by January 31st, 2017, LAN0RA will take on a request drawing for you in their stead. If this is not an acceptable term to you, we apologize for the inconvenience and we will not be able to deliver the prize to you. There will be no exchange of extra points for any art prize that is not delivered.

So far, we're offering over 2,000 points plus a ton of free drawing request prizes!!!

SIDE NOTES:

LAN0RA will note you on October 2nd with your teammates dev names to help introduce you to each other. Please get together with each other and discuss your ideas for the topic of your team. Don't be afraid to introduce yourselves to each other and describe what art abilities you have. Remember, this is a drawing/painting or writing contest only, no other types of entries will be allowed. You are expected to collaborate with each other as this is a team contest. You need your teammates to win! Become friends with them!

LAN0RA needs point donations to make fun things happen in The Art Realm. This contest concludes any extra points that have been donated to her from the members of the group plus, a whole slew of her own points are being offered for this contest to happen.
If you can spare any points, llamas (even llamas are a fun prize), free request drawings, free pixel arts, free bases, stock/resources, sketches, etc, please help out so we can offer fun contests and events in The Art Realm!
You'll get commemorated in a "thank you" journal in January of next year and you're icon will be placed on the front page of The Art Realm through January 2017 for any point donations you make to our group to make it a more fun place to hold contests!
